This afternoon Bob and I have we have been discussing things about vBWar, and we came to think that nowadays very little amount of sites hosts multiple clans.
Should vBWar, therefore, continue to support multiple clans or not?

That is what we waiting for!!
Continue MCS, else I'm nothing with vBWar for with the things I'm using it with.
And for what Uxmax saids, we need the MCS also.

The way vBWar is structured now we cannot support having a member belong to more than one clan/division without a major rewrite which would take alot longer than we really care to do.

So I am not sure what the verdict is but it sounds like me and a lot of others have been waiting for this project and the support for multiple clans now gone which is what I was waiting for. I was wanting the full bells and whistles with hosting multiple clans and such.... Even if you made it so that a member can only be with one clan at a time til later releases.

OK .. well then maybe we have to wait a bit longer for the next release
but i would really appreciate it if you guys are going for Multiple Clan Support.
Have a nice day!

Right now vBWar does support multiple clans but not in the sense of letting everyone belong to more than one clan. What we would have to do is restructure the coding so it is always multiple clans (no option in vbwar options) and recode everything.
This poses another problem, we would have to have it so divisions and statuses are consistent across all clans.
Let me look at this again and try to figure out the best way to do this.

and that makes this functionality useless to us. we want to have the abilty to add our members in more than only one "clan/squad/division".
having this feature enabled would be really cool!

My vote is for multiple clan support as it currently is but with the suggested amendments of allowing a player to be in more than 1 team.
Sorry guys but this I presumed you had intended to do in a future release/ pro release. It was the main reason why I purchased vbwar and not continued to use vwar. That and the fact it fits in with vb and allows for multiple teams and a host of oother options.
So for me if you plan to cut back to support for 1 team only then it constitues a waste of money on our behalfs.
I hope you decide to stick with what you had currently planned for this project along with the additions people have mentioned.
I understand that a total rewrite is time consuming and probably one pain in the rear to do, but on the whole I think you would be creating a very useful product people would like to get there hands on, in fact Im positive you'd probably corner the market with the planned additions you had in mind at a fair price to joe public.
Keep up the good work :)

if you can keep the multiclan support I think that would be best, even if members can only be in one clan at a time (no big deal)

without being able to have a member within multiple teams/clans on vbwar its just no use to me I have licenced a copy but never really used it down to the fact we have 3 teams and a member can play for each one (if they have the time), so its never been feasible to use vbar as there no way to seperate the teams properly, this was the one feature I was holding out for :(

Ok...then it's decided...vBWar will support multiple clans/divisions. We will need to restructure the code and this will only be available for vbulletin 3.5.x.

Great news. I will hold out until the 3.5 version is ready before I purchase a license... or if I buy now, will I be able to upgrade for free?

Hold out for vbwar 3.5 as the code is going to change significantly in that this is almost a complete rewrite.

Can i ask one thing. If i got my vbwar up and running now would i be able to use the already entered data in a 3.5 installation ?

There is always an upgrade script involved, you will never lose your data but just to be safe it is always highly recommended that you backup your data prior to any upgrade.

Ive emailed Dark Wizard asking what a "suitable price" is for the code base and, well, guess what, he never even bothered to reply. I guess he must be so loaded with cash that he simply doesnt want mine.

Not true, I just replied to you PM and I am sorry I wasn't active. Since my heart surgery my family and I have moved and I was very busy. Please look at the PM and respond via email. Thanks!

Thanks, I am doing very well now and being alot more careful. I am trying to sell this off to someone that can continue it so it has a future. If you know anyone interested I will sell the domain name, all source code including what has been done on the latest version. Email me if you do.
Thanks,
Bob

Our clan site now runs vBulletin 3.6.10, and we've lost the ability to use vBWar a long time ago. Is there any way to pull up the war record of scores with dates, etc. through phpmyadmin? vBWar was the only record of our wins and loses.
